Friday, Aug. 8 at 6 pm – The Horables Klezmer Trio

ABOUT: The Horables play an eclectic mix of Klezmer, Jazz Manouche, polkas, Gypsy dance tunes and rags from the age of steam. You will also hear songs in Yiddish and English. The Horables bring authentic joyful Jewish music to any event or setting from festivals (such as Mill Race, Northern Lights, Ashkenaz , Winterfolk, Jewish Music Week Toronto Jazz Festival and Roncesvalles Polish festival) to nightclubs, gallery openings and family and community events. They are busking regulars at markets like The Leslieville Farmers Market, Sorauren Market and Evergreen Brickworks, and you can often find them at the Free Times Cafe Klezmer brunch. they rose from the ashes of a band known for its activism as well as its music, the all woman Klezmer band Pomegranate.
Saturday, Aug. 9 at 11 am – Denis Romanov

ABOUT Denis Romanov grew up on the shores of the Volga river in Russia and now lives and creates in a place commonly known as Toronto (Tkaronto), Canada. As a singer-songwriter, Denis is inspired by encounters with human and non-human worlds, stories stranger than fiction, and solitude.
Sunday, Aug. 10 at 12 pm – Elise Boeur

ABOUT: JUNO nominated fiddler and Hardanger fiddle player Elise Boeur explores the outfields of contemporary folk music with her quintet Aerialists, and is a sought-after collaborator in multiple genres and soundscapes. Elise’s solo performance is grounded in aural folk traditions and honed through intensive study in Nordic traditional music at Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge. She uses the playground of the stage to share fiery and contemplative tunes from Norway, Sweden, Ireland, and across Canada, with a contagious love of old melodies and the way they move us. Whether for dance or for listening, her playing communicates the timeless communal joy of traditional fiddle music.
All summer long, join us every Friday from 6 – 8 pm, Saturday from 11 am – 1 pm, and Sunday from 12 – 2 pm for live music by local artists on the public stage located on the north east corner of Bloor St. and Brunswick Ave.
