Saturday, July 12 at 11 am – Jen Schaffer & the Shiners
ABOUT: Jen Schaffer and the Shiners hail from Toronto, Montreal, Welland and the UK! They are purveyors of original soulful folk rock music with lush harmonies and heavy bass. Jen Schaffer is the lead singer, songwriter and acoustic guitarist. She came to music via a stint as a public defender in the Appalachian foothills of Ohio, where she gained a love of alt-country music and a heightened social conscience. Her self-penned works speak of love, struggle and injustice and are sharply focused through the lens of her own life journey. The Shiners are Simon Law, the band’s drummer, keyboardist, background vocalist and producer, who is also a Grammy winning songwriter of Soul II Soul’s Back to Life and original member of that band; John Teshima plays guitar, both electric and acoustic – he also plays keyboards and adds background harmonies; Hideki Kumagai on bass and Dorothy Hwang on keyboards and mandolin as well as background harmonies.

Sunday, July 13 at 12 pm: R. Flex with J.E. Lopez
ABOUT: Cheeky R&B creator, R. Flex, dares to change the shape of R&B. Blending in electronic sounds and pop hooks, they channel the impish spirit of Janet Jackson, Tinashe, and Kelela while pushing the genre’s BPM to exciting places. Their commitment to storytelling through music and fashion explores intimacy, self-discovery, and identity. They challenge traditional narratives of love and self-love, creating intriguing spaces for queer joy and expression. J.E. Lopez is a Filipino-Canadian guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose music lives at the crossroads of groove and vulnerability. Rooted in Toronto’s cultural mosaic, his sound weaves together the edge of blues-rock, the deep pocket of old-school funk and soul, and the smooth contours of modern R&B. But labels don’t capture it. His music doesn’t play to nostalgia or trend—it speaks directly to the heart, with a voice that’s both contemporary and timeless.
